My name is Nedra van de Reep and I'm originally from the US. I moved to The Netherlands in June of 2015. My education in Massage and Bodywork has included over 1,000 hours of (on campass) academic training in: Anatomy, Physiology and Kinesiology and Pathology - as well as a variety of massage modalities such as: Sports Massage, Deep Tissue, Swedish, Connective Tissue Therapy, Medical Massage, Kinesthetic Awareness through Movement, Neuromuscular Therapy, Shiatsu, Reflexology and Prenatal Massage. I graduated in 2010 from the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Mount Kisco, New York. Please Note: To verify my alumni status on the Finger Lakes School of Massage website - please enter my last name as: Reep
While living in New York I successfully completed the New York State boards exam and became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in New York State. I later moved to Connecticut and succesfully completed the National Exam where I was awarded the National Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork by the NCBTMB. I then became registered as a Licensed Massage Therapist in Connecticut. I started my business in 2011. First, at a holistic wellness center and then along side a Natropathic Doctor and Chiropractor.
In June 2013, my husband and I had our daughter and six months later in 2014, I began to work from my home office. After becoming settled in the Netherlands I began working at BLOOM - House of Health for just over one year. After much success with a growing business I was excited to have my own office space for two years within the TAURO building on Konninginegracht. I am now so grateful to be a part of Delight Yoga, just across from the Peace Palace in The Hague. Here, I am part of a beautiful family of like-minded and like-hearted bodywork professionals. 💜
A bit of insight into my style of work is that while providing Therapeutic Massage, I tend to stay in a quiet and concentrated state, giving close attention to what it is I am feeling, but I encourage an openness of communication and work within your level of comfort. Each and every massage is custom-tailored to you, regardless of price or length of session. My approach is to assist the body in its healing, recovery and injury prevention while always keeping the individual in mind. Massage for me, is a Moving Meditation. During treatments, I'm constantly thinking of the connective tissue, the muscles and underlying structures it surrounds. I highly respect feedback from my clients as I understand that everyone and every body is different.
I remain a Licensed Massage Therapist in both Connecticut and New York State and everyday I look forward to continuing my career as a Massage Therapist and Massage Instructor here in The Netherlands.
Continuing Education is vital as I believe that my best is not solely in my practice but also in my continued learning. I have 18 hours of continued education in Lomi-Lomi Massage and I've also successfully completed a 24 hour course in Pre/Postnatal Massage. I look forward to even more learning in this year ahead.
What I love about having my own business is the connection I make with my students and clients....How well I'm able to get to know them and how well they are able to get to know me. And how this 'Massage Therapist/Client connection brings out the best in a long term therapeutic environment. I look forward to giving massage again - to Netherlanders and Expats alike!
